Zoo!

This weekend was my birthday. To me age is just a number. Most days I don't feel my age (which is 32 for those who want to know). Some days I feel like I am 32 going on 22 and others it's 32 going on 72. This birthday was especially special because it was my first birthday with Maizie. It's funny how your view of the "perfect birthday" changes once you have kids. Last year I would have said the perfect birthday is sitting on the beach with a margarita in hand (which I think I did my last 2 birthdays). But this year was different. All I wanted to do was have a fun day with Maizie at the Zoo. And a fun day at the zoo we had!
We went to a zoo we have never been to before and didn't really know what to expect. It was actually a really nice zoo. They had a petting zoo with a bunch of goats. I didn't know how Maizie would react to all the goats but she loved and I mean LOVED them. She was walking patting then on the back. There was even a little baby goat but Maizie wanted nothing to do with the baby. She liked the big fat goats much better. It one point she had a goat by it's horns and was shaking it's head.

I think she was trying to crawl on this guys back.

There was also a deer park where the deer just roam free and you can pet them.

Of course we had to stop and watch the lemurs for a while.

We ended the day on the carousel. At first Maizie didn't know what to think but by the end I think she was having fun.

Maizie and I sitting on a wooden camel.

After we left the park we came home and all took a nap. Then Tracy and I went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant. It really was a great birthday.

Time out

This is how time out starts.

Then this.

and this.

Which results in this.

then this

and once again.....this

As you can see we are having some issues with time out. Maizie doesn't spend a whole lot of time in time out (although lately it's becoming more frequent). Any tips on how to keep her in time out? I'm open to any suggestions.

Slide!

After scouring all sorts of web-sites for used outdoor climbers for Maizie we (and by we I mean I) decided to just buy a new one. I am the type of person who likes to know what I am buying. I usually spend hours researching online to find just the right product. It took me about 6 months to finally decide what laptop to buy. So when it came time to buy a outdoor play thing for Maizie it was no different. I found one that I thought she would like and that she could use now and grow in to. Well after dragging Tracy and Maizie out to a few stores and then calling a bunch more I couldn't find what I wanted. I finally broke down and ordered from the dreaded Wal-Mart. I am a Target kind of girl so it really felt like I was betraying on an old friend. Even though getting the climber was surprisingly easy and it even came in a week early I am still a Target girl and always will be.

Helping Daddy.

She played on it for about 2 minutes and then wanted to play with the shovel I use to pick up Kodi droppings. But she is slowly warming up to it. She played on it for a while today.

Banana

Maizie is a very picky eater. There are only a handful of things she will eat. Banana's are her favorite. She has been known to eat several a day.

I think this one is my favorite.

She takes the biggest bites. It's so funny.

Water

Maizie LOVES the water. She loves bath time, swim time and of course her water table. It was so nice out today I was going to get out her little pool but settled on the water table.

She's really starting to get a little belly! Must be from all the Teddy's she eats.

Notice the band aids on both knees. Normally she wont keep band aids on but now that she has Kai-Lan band aids there ok.

She was soaked!

Having some juice with Daddy. Too tired to even hold her sippy herself.
